Charles Anderson, Vice President

Charles Anderson founded Anderson, Williams & Co. with Drennen Williams in 1980, which was acquired by J. Smith Lanier & Co. in March of 2007. He has over 40 years of experience in the tax qualified plan retirement business. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Birmingham-Southern College and a Juris Doctorate from the Birmingham School of Law. Charles holds Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant designations from the American College. Charles holds securities registrations 7, 63, 1, 24 & 51. He is a member of the Monday Morning Quarterback Club, past President and former member of the Board of the Birmingham Chapter of the Society of Financial Services Professionals, and a past President and former member of the Board of the Cahaba Heights Athletic Association.  Charles devotes most of his time to plan acquisition, plan design, vendor analysis, and the service, review and monitoring of current client plans.

 
 

Andrew Blankenship, Vice President

Andrew Blankenship joined J. Smith Lanier & Co. in January of 2008 upon completion of his Master of Business Administration degree from Auburn University in Auburn, AL. Andrew also holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance degree from Auburn University. Before attending graduate school, Andrew worked full time as an analyst for ITC^Deltacom in West Point, GA. Andrew is dedicated to the acquisition and servicing of all types of defined contribution plans.  His services are provided at both the plan sponsor and participant levels.  Furthermore, he provides many of his clients with fiduciary consulting services. In addition to his retirement plan services, Andrew also offers a wide array of employee benefits services.  These services include, but are not limited to, group health plan design and implementation, group life & disability, group dental & vision, wellness programs, EAP services, communications/enrollment services, compliance services, and discussions around the ever changing, recently enacted health care reform legislation.  Andrew holds securities registrations 7, 63 & 65.  He is a Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist designee from the College for Financial Planning.  

 

Lindsay B. Luketic, Senior Relationship Manager

Lindsay Luketic joined J. Smith Lanier & Co. as an intern from 2008-2011.  Before returning to J. Smith Lanier & Co. in 2012, Lindsay worked in marketing and advertising for one year.  She now serves as a Senior Relationship Manager for the team.  She is a graduate of Birmingham-Southern College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and a minor in Economics.  Lindsay is responsible for managing all aspects of our client relationships, including benchmarking of qualified plans, marketing the team, leading enrollment meetings, educating plan participants, conducting investment analyses, preparing retirement plan proposals, helping plan sponsors convert and implement retirement plans, providing support to clients, and serving in compliance & supervisory roles. Lindsay assists in all aspects of retirement plan coordination.  Lindsay holds securities registrations 6, 63, 65 and 26.  She is a Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist designee from the College for Financial Planning.  

 
 
 
 
 

Vickie Ragland, Senior Relationship Manager

Vickie Ragland joined Anderson, Williams & Co. in 1985 and moved with the team to J. Smith Lanier & Co. in 2007 after the firm's acquisition. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Textile Engineering from Auburn University with a minor in business management. Vickie has spent over 30 years as our individual client relationship manager. She is responsible for processing all individual client business including life insurance, long-term care insurance, mutual funds, college 529 plans and individual annuities. She is also dedicated in helping clients establish and/or transfer their IRA's, both traditional and ROTH, as well as helping them with IRA rollovers from their employer sponsored retirement plans. Michelle Wall, Senior Relationship Manager

Michelle Wall joined Anderson, Williams & Co. in March 2002 and moved with the team to J. Smith Lanier & Co. in 2007 after the firm's acquisition. She is a graduate of Samford University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Prior to joining our firm, Michelle had spent the previous 15 years doing third-party administration for several local insurance and accounting firms as well as a brief stint working with ERISA attorneys drafting individual retirement plan documents. Michelle is our retirement plans Relationship Manager. She assists Plan Sponsors with plan conversions, changes and administration. She also serves as a liasion between Plan Sponsors and the retirement plan vendor. Michelle ensures that all retirement plans run smoothly.  Michelle Wall is not registered with Royal Alliance Associates, Inc.

 
 
 

Angie Webster, Relationship Manager

Angie Webster joined Anderson, Williams & Co. in October of 1987 and moved with the team to J. Smith Lanier & Co. in 2007 with the firm’s acquisition.  After a brief retirement, she returned to JSL in 2012 in a part-time supportive role as an Assistant Benefit Advisor.  Angie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Auburn University.  She has over 20 years of experience as a client relationship manager with JSL.  Angie now serves as a Relationship Manager, assisting plan sponsors and participants with all of their day-to-day needs.  Angie Webster is not registered with Royal Alliance Associates, Inc.

 
 
 
 

Jack Wilkinson, Senior Vice President

Jack Wilkinson is a Senior Vice President with J. Smith Lanier & Co. and has been with the company since January of 2009.  Prior to joining JSL, he traded 10 year Treasury Bond futures in Charleston, SC.  Jack is located in our Lexington, KY office and focuses on retirement plan acquisition and service.  His places an emphasis on employee education & communication.  In addition to retirement plan work, he is actively involved with employee benefits work.  That includes, but is not limited to, group medical insurance (both fully insured and self-funded plans), dental, disability & life insurance.  Jack graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance.  In addition, he also has his Master of Business Administration degree from the Gatton College at the University of Kentucky.  He is a Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist designee from the College for Financial Planning.  Jack holds securities registrations 7 & 66.

 
 

Drennen Williams, Vice President

Drennen Williams founded Anderson, Williams & Co. with Charles Anderson in 1980, which was acquired by J. Smith Lanier & Co. in March of 2007. Drennen Williams has spent his entire professional career of approximately 45 years in the financial services industry with a concentration in tax qualified plans for the past 20 years. He specializes in developing retirement income strategies for those approaching or already in retirement. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Alabama. He is a Chartered Life Underwriter and a Chartered Financial Consultant. Drennen is a Past President of the Birmingham and Alabama Associations of Insurance and Financial Services Professionals. Drennen holds securities registrations 00 & 63.

 
 
 

D. Drennen “Renn” Williams, Jr., Vice President

Renn Williams began his career in financial services as an intern with Northwestern Mutual while in college.  Upon returning to Birmingham in 2004, he joined Anderson, Williams & Co., which was acquired by J. Smith Lanier & Co. in 2007 forming The Retirement Services Group. Renn’s practice is solely focused on advising retirement plan committees and helping plan participants.  He has a particular interest in behavioral finance within employer sponsored plans.   Renn enjoys working with plan committees to make positive impacts on  plan participants.  Renn has a Bachelor degree in Business Administration with a minor in economics from Millsaps College; he also has a Master of Business Administration degree from the Else School of Management. He is a Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist designee from the College for Financial Planning. Renn holds FINRA securities registrations 63, 65, 7, 24 & 53. In his free time, Renn enjoys bass fishing and spending time outdoors with his wife, Michele, his daughters, Gracie and Natalie, and their dogs, Malvin and Liddy.
